Presently people have lots of
aspirations and expectations which are mostly unrealistic. Children expect a lot from their parents;
students expect a lot from their educators; employees expect a lot from their
employers; subordinates expect a lot from their superiors; customers expect a
lot from companies; and people expect a lot from politicians. Likewise, people
have lots of expectations on others without looking at the ground realities.
At times students claim to be the best
brains and demand too much from their faculty. They must introspect whether
they are competent to be in the best educational institutions. Do they have
enough scores and grades? Do they have qualifications and competencies to
claim? Do they have the adequate resources to claim the best faculty? Do they have the right attitude and abilities to
be placed in the prestigious companies? At
home, children must think whether their parents are in a position to provide
them what they desired. In office, the employees must question themselves
whether they are delivering the goods as per the expectations of their
employers. They must question whether they are justifying their roles and
responsibilities by contributing their best to their organizations. Before
people expect a lot from their politicians, they must question themselves
whether they are casting their votes to the right politicians who can emphasize
on progress and development rather than to emphasize on religion, religion,
caste and linguistic aspects. When people question themselves seriously, they
will get right responses and stay grounded with realities. Also, they can excel
as better citizens.
It is time to ponder seriously whether
we have the potential to achieve what we aspire. Is it justified to rise unrealistic
demands from others? Do we have the right mindset, tool set and skill set to
expect them? Are we getting right-oriented or duty-oriented? It is time we analyzed
to find solutions to most of our unrealistic demands. You must remember that
you will get what you deserve, not
what you desire. In order to achieve
what you desire, you must work hard and smart constantly.
The present world needs empathy, right
attitude, introspection and reflection to build a better world. It is time for
all of us to think and work in a right direction. Are there any takers to my
