“Shed Regional Mindset and Wed National Mindset to Grow as a Healthy Citizen” - Professor M.S.Rao

“If there is one place on the face of earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India.”  - Romain Rolland, Roman Scholar

India is a country of contrasts where people of all religions, races, languages, regions live together with universal brotherhood and fraternity. We have been divided by British in the name of religion, and it is unfortunate that some politicians are adopting the same strategy to divide the people in the name of religion, religion and language which is not healthy in the long run. Some of the politicians go to the extent of branding from people of other religions, regions and languages as bad. Their main intention is to incite people and create a rift among them so that they can grow as leaders for a particular community. It is the people who must identify such unscrupulous politicians and keep them away.

Issues like religion, region and language are very sensitive in India and politicians understand the weaknesses of the people and incite them by saying that people of their religions, regions and languages are looked down upon by others. In democracy, people are supreme. Hence, they must keep away such politicians who promote themselves and their families rather than promoting the interests of the people. It is essential for all Indians to shed regional, religious and linguistic mindset and wed national mindset to grow as healthy citizens. India is a land of unity in diversity. We must respect the diversity and take pride in being an Indian rather than anything else as mother and motherland are greater than heaven.

“India is, the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grandmother of tradition. Our most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only.” - Mark Twain

  1. Innocent people are deviated in the name of caste, language, race, religion and even god. The only way to cease these unfortunate issues is by changing the perceptions of people. Motivators and orators, who speak the facts only can help people get out of these havocs.

    Thank you sir
