“Are Boy Friends Body Guards to Girls?” - Professor M.S.Rao

"Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything." - Muhammad Ali

When I was working as a professor in a college I used to observe boys and girls meeting and talking to each others. Sometimes boys used to fight to win over the heart of the girls. People often find it tough to spot who are lovers and friends because it is the thin line that separates a lover from friends. With friends, you can share certain things about your mind. With lovers, you can share certain things about your heart. Some of the boys fail to understand this difference. When a girl talks to a boy he often thinks that the girl is loving him. In fact, it is totally wrong. Most boys mistake friendship with love due to their slow maturity levels.

Most girls don’t disclose their cards to boys quickly. In contrast, boys disclose everything with others as they cannot control their emotions and excitement. In some cases, as a matter of ego boost boys often declare that the girls love them. The truth is that when a boy loves a girl everybody knows in the college whereas when a girl loves a boy nobody knows except the girl.

When we talk about love and friendship, a girl can have as many boy friends as possible due to peer pressure and age pressure. Of course, it is a major ego boost to her! She can keep one as a lover and rest of them as boy friends. Of course, she can also treat them as her body guards to protect her and her lover.   Hence, boys must be mature enough to understand whether the girl loves them or retains them as boy friends or body guards.

“The language of friendship is not words but meanings.” - Henry David Thoreau
