“Leader is the One who Serves Others, not Self” - Professor M.S.Rao

"The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant."— Max DePree

If you search in Google you get half a billion hits on the term ‘leader’ and ‘leadership’. It shows the interest people show towards these terms. You will find a million definitions on leadership. But here is my own description of a leader:

Leader is the one who brings all people into one platform and manage their emotions, egos and feelings to achieve the desired objectives and goals. Indeed, it is a tough task for ordinary individuals to do. But it is possible only for leaders. Additionally, leader is the one who serves others, not self. Therefore, if you want to excel as a leader, keep others’ interests above your interests. Sacrifice yourself for the welfare of others and serve others to stand taller and stand out as a leader. This entire process is easier said than done. That is the reason why many individuals cannot excel as leaders but only a few excel. Hence, acquire the attitude and personality of leader and mould your behavior accordingly by emulating other ethical leaders to leave a mark behind for others to follow.

"Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others."— Jack Welch
