“Soft Leadership - A New Leadership Style” - Professor M.S.Rao

“To give you an ounce of idea I dig tons of information.” – Professor M.S.Rao, Founder, MSR Leadership Consultants, India

I have coined a new concept – soft leadership which is drawing international attention with more curiosity about it, and the readers are sending me e-mails to contribute more articles on it. I thought to blog a small post about it.

In fact, we have so many styles in leadership, and I felt that there is a need for a new leadership style as per the changing times and technologies, and due to the rising expectations and aspirations of people.  Hence, I have done research for few years on soft leadership style, and authored a book titled, ‘Soft Leadership: Make Others Feel More Important’ (ISBN 978-81-7515-653-1).  World’s 23rd ranked Management Guru, Dave Ulrich wrote foreword for this book. The book can be purchased URL: http://www.amazon.com/Soft-Leadership-Make-others-important/dp/8175156538  I also wrote an article on it, and published in prestigious Leader to Leader Journal in Spring 2012 issue, and you can purchase it URL: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ltl.20019/abstract

This soft leadership style blends leadership with soft skills as I have done my PhD in soft skills. Both soft skills and leadership are close to my heart, and I created soft leadership where leaders lead from the front with soft skills. This style has proximity with democratic, charismatic, principle-centered, servant, transformational leadership but a unique one as soft leaders of this style are distinguished by 11 Cs – character, charisma, conscience, conviction, courage, communication, compassion, commitment, consistency, consideration, and contribution to make a difference in the lives of others.

You will find more articles on soft leadership in my blog as and when I get new triggers on it. Hence, watch my blog for this new leadership style.
