"We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit." Aristotle
Excellence is a hallmark of great
individuals. Excellence differentiates between successful individuals and
failures. It differentiates between
performers and non-performers. Believing in excellence helps you stand taller
in whatever the area you are into. But the moot point here is how to excel in
your chosen area of activity to ensure your longevity. Here are the points to
consider towards building your excellence:
Learn continuously and constantly with
an open mind. Try to do research in your area of interest regularly and update
yourself. Network with the people of
your area of interest through association and collaboration.
You must learn from various sources.
When you are at home read good books, browse internet and acquire the latest
information in your domain. Update yourself, find out new triggers, and work on
them. Watch television channels of your
area of interest and grab the information needed about your domain. When you
are in office talk to your colleagues and generate fresh knowledge. Also share your knowledge with others so that
there can be exchange and proliferation of knowledge. When you talk to others
in the workplace you acquire more ideas about your domain and work on them
constantly.
Join associations in your area of
interest as you acquire more knowledge from many sources. In addition, you will
be able to build great connections and achieve quick professional success. If you get an opportunity share your
knowledge in forums so that you get noticed by others as a domain expert thus enhancing
your professional image.
Go to a serene place and you get more
ideas about your area of interest, and you will be able to reflect and apply
the same. Likewise, there are a number
of ways you can acquire knowledge including reading, observation, training, practice
and experience. It finally paves the way
for your excellence. Are you ready to
achieve excellence now?
“The quality of a person’s life is in
direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen
field of endeavor.” - Vince Lombardi
