3 Aspects to Achieve Your Success” - Professor M.S.Rao

To solve several problems, you need to consider various aspects but I shortlisted the three key ones - confidence, information, and presence of mind. Confidence is essential everywhere and in all areas but it is more required in problem-solving. Unless you are confident about the problem you will not be able to solve it. Secondly, you need to acquire information about the problem from all sources. Nowadays information is the key to success. William Pollard once said, “Information is a source of learning. But unless it is organized, processed, and available to the right people in a format for decision making, it is a burden, not a benefit.” Therefore, acquire right and relevant information that will help you weigh all options to make a right decision. It requires your judgment and understanding the pros and cons of the fall-out. Thirdly, you must have presence of mind. There are people knowing many things but don’t know how to act according to the situation leading to failures. Having presence of mind tips the scale to your success. Hence, you must understand the ground realities and act accordingly to achieve the desired outcomes. To conclude, being confident, equipped with adequate information, and acting with presence of mind not only solve the problems in your life but also lead to your success.

“Possess Inquisitiveness to Achieve Success” - Professor M.S.Rao

“You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.” - Clay P. Bedford

When I asked my elder son, M. Ganesh Sai the name of his principal, he replied that he did not know. I told him, “You must know the name of your principal as he is the head of your educational institution and also you must know the name of the president of our country.” I further added that these are the basic things students must be aware of. He further added that most of his friends were not aware of principal’s name. I advised him that basic information such as name of the principal and the president of the country is a must for everyone to know. For instance, when you go for an employment interview the recruiter may ask couple of questions about the noted personalities in your country to test whether you are aware of basic information and also to test your inquisitiveness. If you express your ignorance it conveys wrong impression on the mind of the recruiters. My son asked me to explain about inquisitiveness. I explained him about inquisitiveness as follows:

Inquisitiveness is about being curious about various things that happen around you. It is the catalyst for motivation. It is essential in the present world. Inquisitiveness helps you ask right questions and learn various things. It helps acquire knowledge quickly and also retain it for a longer time. Chip Bell rightly remarked, "Effective questioning brings insight, which fuels curiosity, which cultivates wisdom." Therefore, inquisitiveness helps you stand out from others. It helps you invent new things leading to innovation. In the current cut-throat competitive world the people who have extra essential information have an edge over others. Information is the key to survival and success. When you have adequate information you will be able to understand well, and be able to make sound decisions and achieve success ultimately.

Students must possess inquisitiveness to learn various aspects in life. We often think that inquisitiveness is needed only in classrooms but it is needed beyond classrooms. Therefore, equip with inquisitiveness and acquire more essential information in your area of interest to stand out.
